Driveways and block paving

Durable, good-looking driveways built on a properly prepared base.

Our block paving services provide durable, stylish surfaces that enhance the look and function of your home. Block paving is a popular choice for driveways, pathways and parking areas thanks to its strength, versatility and wide range of design options.

We offer professional driveway installation, including ground excavation, sub-base preparation, sand bedding and precise block placement to make sure the surface stays stable for years. With a variety of colours, patterns and edging styles available, we'll design a driveway that suits your property.

Additional services include block paving repairs, re-sanding joints, weed removal, sunken block replacement, driveway extensions and cleaning and sealing.

If you're paving over a front garden larger than 5 square metres, the surface needs to be permeable or drain onto a lawn or border to avoid needing planning permission. We'll build that into the design. A new dropped kerb is applied for separately through Hampshire County Council.

  • Garden design and build

Very happy with the design and suggested alterations as the work progressed, the final result is just what I needed. The team worked very hard through the extremely hot days. They were courteous and considerate to my neighbours, important as we are on a shared driveway. The site was kept clean and they tidied up every day. I would recommend them on.

Our process

How we work

  1. 01

    Survey and design

We measure, check levels and drainage, and help you choose blocks, pattern and edging.

  2. 02

    Excavation

We dig out to the depth a driveway needs and remove the spoil.

  3. 03

    Sub-base

A thick layer of compacted MOT Type 1 gives the driveway its strength.

  4. 04

    Laying and finishing

Blocks are laid on a sand bed, cut in, compacted and jointed.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need planning permission for a new driveway?

Not usually, as long as a front garden surface over 5 square metres is permeable or drains to a lawn or border. We design to these rules as standard.

How long will a block paved driveway last?

Laid on a proper sub-base and looked after, block paving lasts for decades, and individual blocks can be lifted and relaid if needed.

Can you repair my existing driveway?

Yes. We lift and relay sunken areas, replace broken blocks, re-sand joints and clean and seal tired paving.
